Who could forget Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn in 'The African Queen' or Laurence Olivier's wonderful performance in 'Spartacus'. Ingrid Bergman for her academy award winning performance in 'Gaslight' and Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining'.
There have been many great performances over the years from male and female actors, but who, in your opinion, comes out top and who have we missed off the list?

I don't see why Keira Knightly gets a mention on the list. She just pouts her way through every role.
I must say that Daniel Day-Lewis has probably impressed me the most over the last fifteen years or so, along with Russell Crowe.
Edward Norton and Christian Bale are also modern favourites.
But in terms of acting in so many great memorable movies over a long period of time, perhaps the award should go to Robert DeNiro?
are far better than most in that list
